What is Cerakote?2020-01-25T01:22:33+00:00

Cerakote is a Polymer-Ceramic Composite coating that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness. Each of these properties is rigorously tested to guarantee that Cerakote products remain at the forefront of the ceramic coatings market. Cerakote ceramic coatings utilize state-of-the-art technology to out-perform any competitive coating in both laboratory settings and real-world applications.

Can Cerakote be applied to more than just firearms?2020-01-25T01:24:35+00:00

We can coat anything metal, polymer, plastic, or wood. If we have specific concerns with coating an item, we routinely contact a manufacturer with questions.

How long does it take to finish my project?2020-01-25T01:28:53+00:00

Many variables determine a project’s timeline. Size and complexity of your project along with the projects already underway will impact the turnaround time. Generally, we try to keep our lead time within 2-3 weeks, but have been known to need as much as 4 weeks during peak season (December 1 – March 15).

How much does it cost?2020-01-25T01:29:44+00:00

Project pricing varies, but we try to keep as comprehensive of a price list as possible on this site. It is meant to give you an idea but because no two projects are the same, please contact us to discuss your project ideas and get the estimate you need.

How good is Cerakote?2020-01-25T01:31:45+00:00

Cerakote is the leading composite finish on the market, and out performs all the other commonly applied coatings in abrasion resistance, scratch resistance, and hardness. Cerakote is also at the top of its class in corrosion resistance and resistance to chemicals. For a full description of all the ASTM testing results, click here. Having visited the factory and trained with them on more than one occasion, we feel confident in recommending Cerakote for your needs.

Do you offer any type of warranty on the coating?2020-01-25T01:34:03+00:00

We stand behind the Cerakote product and application process without hesitation. Each project is inspected before being returned to you. In the event you experience any uncharacteristic wear or reduced performance of the coating, we will refinish the item at no cost to you.

What do you consider uncharacteristic wear or reduced performance?2020-01-25T01:35:30+00:00

When the substrate undergoes the appropriate application process and Cerakote is correctly applied, the coating should not chip, crack or peel under normal use. However, wherever friction occurs between two surfaces repeatedly for an extended period of time – holstering and unholstering a firearm is an excellent example – wear can be expected and will gradually become more noticeable. Premature wear, or wear found in an area of the item where there is little to no friction present, would be considered uncharacteristic.  Please note that coated items when used in some environments (sand, sandboxes, or boxes of sand) may wear faster than if back on the block.

How do I get started?2020-01-25T01:36:18+00:00

You can contact us to arrange a drop off at our location in Concord, NC or ship your project to us with the completed order form.  If we are coating a firearm for you, please note that all applicable state and federal laws apply.

What does the labor fee include?2020-01-25T01:37:04+00:00

The labor fee includes the complete disassembly and reassembly of your project. In order to properly apply Cerakote, the entire item must be disassembled to its basic parts. The labor fee includes a function check and a test-fire when requested.

Can I disassemble and reassemble on my own?2020-01-25T01:37:52+00:00

Yes, but we make no guarantees on the fitment or function of your project after coating has been completed.
